Indian music, like so many other cultures, has its popular forms and classical forms. The popular music comes primarily from Bollywood, where most movies are musicals with soundtracks and songs that themselves become a major part of the production.
The classical forms date back to the origins of the culture itself and stems from the various religions. To be appreciated, the music requires a good understanding of the classical principles behind the structure and meaning of the compositions.
At Roz ana we believe that music is something that is a matter of personal taste and we strive to play music that has wide appeal with many familiar and classic tracks from Western music but combined with new influences from all over the world.
During the day we play music that you would be comfortable listening to at home as a home, whether popular recent tracks, older soul and R&B tracks or jazz. We strive to make the music compliment the mood but never obtrusive.
In the evening the music forms a more important part of the ambiance. In the bar and brasserie you will hear lounge music from around the world with relaxing as well as uptempo beats. As the evening progresses the beat becomes a little more vibrant to help the party atmosphere. In the Restaurant, the mood is generally a little more calming with soul, R&B or jazz tracks that keep the ambiance mellow and relaxed.
As with all aspects of Roz ana’s service, should you have ideas on music you feel would be appreciated by other guests, feel free to tell a member of staff and we will be happy to consider it.
